Our Mission

We’re here to change the cadence of orbital defence. Instead of large, lumbering satellites, we aim to deliver lean, responsive systems designed to act—not just observe. We envision a future of small, agile spacecraft capable of manoeuvring, inspecting, and responding in real time. Through targeted prototyping and deep technical partnerships, we’re building systems that allow users to act decisively—without waiting for the uplink.

Whether deployed for deterrence, inspection, or disruption, our technology will give decision-makers a new operational rhythm: sovereign, agile and autonomous.

Our Heritage

Shield Space was founded on the operational realities of drone warfare. Our autonomy stack builds on years of field deployment across UAS platforms—refined in the air, hardened on the edge, and now reengineered for orbit. By porting this capability into the space domain, we shortcut the timeline from concept to control. A pipeline that will continue as we bring the latest advances from Shield UAS directly to the space domain. Shield Space exists to accelerate sovereign, affordable space power using tools that already work in the field to meet and exceed the tempo of our adversaries.

Our Ethos

We design for contested space. Everything we build is guided by a core belief: future orbital operations must be tactically survivable and resilient to communications disruption which we observe throughout conventional ground based conflicts. For Space, that means no fragile ground loops, no assumptions about domain stability, and no waiting for permission to act. From visual targeting to autonomous hold positions, we prioritise software-defined agility and in-theatre adaptability—so our systems keep working when our adversaries blink.

Our Future

Orbital Eyes is just the beginning.
We’re already building towards Orbital Sentinel. A dedicated, taskable CubeSat platform for autonomous inspection and presence missions on demand. Sentinel will pave the way for Orbital Shield: a distributed mesh of manoeuvrable satellites capable of real-time attribution, defence, and denial in orbit.
